APEGNB Cornerstone Award

The Fredericton branch of APEGNB is recognizing one outstanding full-time student in Engineering at the University of New Brunswick. The focus of the award is on the student's extra-curricular activities, especially in the promotion and enhancement of professional ties with the engineering community at large, and the active promotion of the ongoing responsibilities of the engineering profession, both to fellow engineers and to the community at large.

The recipient is to be selected from the full-time undergraduate students in the Faculty of Engineering at the Fredericton campus of the University of New Brunswick. Candidates may be chosen from any year and the only academic requirement is that a passing grade point average be held, but academic performance may hold a secondary importance. The primary requirement for nomination is that the student has been actively involved in extra-curricular activities while attending university. Consideration will be given to all such activities, both university-based and within the community at large. However, primary emphasis will be placed on those activities which promote the ideals, goals, and the responsibilities of the engineering profession and encourage personal development into active, responsible members of the profession upon graduation. Such activities may include, but are not limited to, the Engineering Undergraduate Society and any such student chapters of professional engineering organizations which may exist on campus.

If you would like to apply, nomination forms are available in the EUS Office (GWC123) and can be submitted until the deadline of Friday, April 7th, 2017

The successful candidate will be presented with a parchment suitable for framing, have their name added to the Cornerstone Award trophy in Head Hall lobby, and receive a $300 prize.
